MLM Success is Not a Nickle and Dime Thing

After three and a half years in network marketing (mlm) it still amazes me. People, even long timers, think that they can make a full time income (or get rich) by buying a $35 starter kit and buying $50-100 in product every month, then recruit three people who will recruit three people.
It’s not like that.

Those people who are a real success will tell you that it takes a MAJOR amount of full time effort to succeed in mlm. It takes hours and hours of phone calls for recruiting every day. It takes holding conference calls, loading and sending emails into an autoresponder, work, work, work. It takes monthly product purchases over a year or more. You work for a year or more and maybe you are making $500 a month.

Success in network marketing is won by one of two methods:
First you can work your behind off 20 hours a day, recruit a hundred people or more (of whom only 1/3 will stay involved,) put $1500 or more in total product monthly purchases and phone bills and make $500-$1000 a month....

OR

Second: You can decide to take the $1500 at the start and join a business that requires a $1000 purchase or more to start earning money. I’m not talking about front-end loading here. Far from it. There are at least three network marketing companies I know of where you can plunk down your $1000-$5000 startup costs all at once, never make another payment out of pocket, recruit a few people, not a hundred, and start earning massive amounts of money from the start.
These are real, stable, legal, (and not well known) network marketing companies that have been around for two or more years.

These companies have no monthly product purchase requirement. After your initial purchase, there will be nothing coming out of you pocket. And you don’t need to recruit a hundred people, either. My sponsor in my current program sponsored just 11 people and made $35,000 in her first four months. (Ok disclaimer here: you may or may not make that kind of money-you know the drill)
Change your mindset. Put up a good chunk of money at the start, never pay another cent, recruit a few people and make an incredible amount of money fast...And still have time for a LIFE.
...or work like a dog for a year or two and see if maybe you might make a couple hundred dollars a month if you can keep recruiting to replace the ones who drop out.
Network marketing has changed. A few companies know the truth and have designed programs around it. And a few networkers have caught on.

MLM Is It A Scam Or Not?

The network marketing industry, also known as multi level marketing (MLM), has become one of the major controversies in the business world. Both advocates and detractors have used strong arguments defending their view.

The detractors have condemned MLM as a scam because the system falsely claims instant riches with less effort based on a “pyramid” marketing scheme that expands a business improperly by promoting too much hype and misleading facts.

Another argument against MLM is the bogus claim of duplication. Nothing can be duplicated since every individual is unique and, under no circumstances, are we all capable of becoming top salesmen or developers of down-line, i.e. MLM marketers recruited as salesman, referred to as “independent business owners”. Actually, a charismatic salesman in the network in this scenario rises in the ranks of the pyramid by earning money from these new recruit’s hard work.

The MLM advocates that duplication is possible only when the marketing plan and the tools have been advanced by the mother company in order to be duplicable for the majority of the distributors. This implies that whenever the mother MLM company is in a position to provide such a tool, then ordinary people with little to none marketing background can copy the marketing techniques and tools and promote their MLM opportunity successfully.

Another downside of MLM is the exploitation of our relatives urging them to join our MLM opportunity which oftentimes stresses family relationships unnecessarily and is considered by many to be a dubious marketing tactic.

In that way of thinking we will not find answers. Only detailed consideration of each and every MLM company would lead to more accurate conclusions and that means thorough examination of the products or services, the marketing and compensation plan, the marketing tools , and of course the company’s support and background.

Not checking the background of your company leadership to make sure that they have MLM experience, with integrity, is another mistake. Why does this matter, you ask? Well, do you want to build this once, build it big, and build it for your children’s children? Then you better make sure that the people running it know what they’re doing and respect the guys and gals in the field who are building it. The best way to do this is to read your company’s policies and procedures. Some of the things you will find there will make you scream! When you read them, you’ll realize who you are really building the business for and it’s not you! Please, please, read the policies and procedures!

Mistake #3

Not knowing how many people it takes to earn the income you want is a huge blunder. Do you want to make $10,000 every month? Okay, then how many people in your organization does it take, on the back end, to make your goal? How doable is that? Are you having trouble just keeping 10, 20, or 30?

In most comp plans to make $10,000 a month, you need anywhere from 1,600 to 5,000 people, depending on how your plan is set up. How doable is that when you can’t even keep 30? I know of a comp plan out there that requires less than 400 people to make $10,000 monthly. How much easier do you think it is to keep people in that plan? Pretty easy, I’d say. So make sure you know the numbers, then crunch them to see how doable it is for you.

Mistake #4

The final mistake that many MLM distributors make is going after their friends and families. Unfortunately, a large majority of companies out there employ this “technique” as their primary source of lead generation. Ouch! Let me just tell you from personal experience that your “warm market” is the coldest out there! If you’re in a company where this is the primary source of lead generation, you are in for a hard time, my friend! This technique does not work. The best leads are the ones you generate yourself, and if your company, team, or upline doesn’t have a system in place to do that, it’s going to be very tough.

These are just a few of the mistakes many people make in a MLM business, but with some basic skills and a good system in place, these mistakes are avoidable. If you are having difficulties, take a good look at these mistakes and see if you’re not making one of them in your own MLM business.
