My Prospecting Secrets Revealed!

Let me start off by explaining the biggest benefit of providing your downline members with a viral prospecting system.

It boils down to this...

When you have a viral prospecting system in place for your team members, your downline has the potential to take on a life of its own and continue to grow effortlessly while you're focusing on more important things such as family and friends.

A gentleman I recently discovered managed to accomplish the difficult task of duplication while maintaining his full time job and family life.

He mentioned that ever since the beginning of his online ventures he was searching for a system that brought interested prospects in automatically.

He didn't have time to do the traditional recruiting methods because they required a lot of time and commitment.

What he wanted instead, was a huge downline that duplicated on auto-pilot from his part time efforts.

"But did such a solution exist?"

If it did, he said he couldn't find it...

So after many years of struggling to build a solid residual income through network marketing he decided it was time to take the bull by the horns (so to speak) and he created a 3 step marketing system that literally exploded his downline within a few months.

The part that amazed me the most was the fact that he didn't spend a dime on advertising. And his downline is now over 11,460 strong and growing monthly on auto-pilot.

Ultimately I learned that being a successful sponsor involves providing some type of system that helps people build their business, not sitting around wondering why your downline isn't doing anything.

I guess the quote from Zig Ziglar holds true:

"You can have everything in life you want, if you just help enough other people get what they want."

Catapult Your Marketing Success With Joint Ventures

There are many ways to make money on the internet. All methods
however, come with a price-tag. For starters, you will probably
need to purchase basic business software and relevant learning
materials. Planning and developing your ideas will definitely
require dedication and perseverance all along the way.

One of the best methods for getting started is to partner with
other marketers so that you can reach larger target audiences.

These joint ventures or "JV's" can take-on many different forms.
Some are as simple as promoting each other's newsletters, while
others may be more complex partnerships with cross-promoting of
complimentary products. Some JV's even involve starting entirely
new projects from scratch.

Joint Ventures are a powerful tool for expanding business in many
areas. So, what is stopping 'you' from using this technique to
expand your business?

For many new marketers, starting a JV can be a frightening task,
especially when it comes to contacting other marketers.
Too often, many marketers appear to be "spamming," when they are
really just seeking other JV partners. Here are some tips that
may help you along the way:

1. Get to know your potential JV partners.

If you start emailing everyone on your list of potential
partners, chances are you will be considered a common spammer.
You won't get the partners you want, or even worse, may destroy
your reputation in the process.

Instead, subscribe to your potential partner's newsletter and
check out their websites and blog. Get to know them a little bit
before approaching them with a proposal.

2. Go slowly when approaching potential partners.

Let's face it, everyone likes a little flattery. When contacting
your potential JV partner, treat them like your "first date." Be
courteous and complimentary. Tell them the things you like about
their business. Join their newsletter and tell them you think it
is awesome, and why. You will be surprised at how much attention
you receive by using a little well placed flattery as you proceed
to develop your relationships with potential JV partners.

3. Your financial estimates should always be realistic.

Don't promise what you can't deliver. Be honest with your
potential partners. Explain your proposal and benefits in
realistic terms, but don't hype. Be honest, open and sincere.

Getting a Joint Venture off the ground doesn't have to be scary
if you start by following the three simple steps given above.

Email Marketing - Dealing With List Fatigue

We all like to look at our email stats, especially when we have
good open rates and our list size is increasing. What should be
done, then, if you notice that your list is growing smaller or
your open rates have gone down? It's time to get some answers
and do something about it.

When subscribers to your list don't open your emails anymore it's
known as list fatigue. They're not exactly unsubscribing and yet
they're not opening your emails. Why is this happening? Without
taking into account the bounces, here are some probable causes:

1. Perhaps they are no longer interested in the subject of your
emails. They may have new interests, and there's not a whole lot
you can do about that.

2. Are the spam filters catching your emails? Make sure you're
not using words that the filters think are spam. Do a search for
the current list of spam words and find other ways to say the
same thing.

3. Sometimes subscribers opt-in with an email address that they
don't check very often, if at all. What you need to do from the
beginning is encourage them to sign up with their primary email
address.

4. You might be sending them too many emails and they're getting
tired of you. If this is happening, slow yourself down and don't
send so many, especially the promotional kind.

5. You've given them helpful information in the past and they
stay on hoping you'll send them something else they need. So
far, your email subject lines have been boring. Take a good look
at the content of your emails. Are you sending valuable
information or just promotions? Also look hard at your email
subject lines. They need to be intriguing and catchy. Start a
swipe file of your favorite lines.

The best bet is to try to prevent inactive subscribers before
they happen. Here are some ways to engage your subscribers:

1. Give high quality content. People will rush to open your
emails if you always over-deliver.

2. Survey your list and find out what information they want from
you. This shows you care about them and their needs. It also
gets your emails opened.

3. Hold a contest that's relevant to your niche and get your
readers to respond.

4. Give people a call to action and be specific. Ask them to
respond to an email you sent or leave a comment on your blog.
Ask them about their successes or ask them what their opinion is
on such-and-such product.

5. Drop tantalizing hints about what the next email is going to
be about. Leave them wondering and wanting to read your next
email.

List fatigue happens, but you can take active measures to
minimize it. Always remember that you're writing your email to
real people and when you have something good to say, they'll want
to read it.

Top 10 Reasons to Use Email Marketing

Ask any marketing expert and they'll tell you "the money's in the
list". Email is a powerful and easy way to build a list and
communicate your marketing messages to leads and customers. Here
are the top 10 reasons to use email marketing.

1. Email marketing is virtually free. Email is truly unique in
it's ability to put your marketing message in front of thousands
of potential customers at virtually no cost. This means that
virtually 100% of revenue generated from email campaigns is pure
profit.

2. Email is personal. Everyone's favorite sound is the sound of
his or her own name. Most email marketing solutions allow you to
automatically customize email messages with personal data such as
the subscriber's name.

3. Valuable demographic data can be collected. When a lead
subscribes to your email list, you can collect valuable data
about your potential customers. This data allows you to better
target your marketing messages to your list.

4. Email messages are sent instantaneously. With the touch of a
button, your marketing message is sent to your list. There is no
waiting for the post office to deliver the message to the
customer's mailbox.

5. Email is transparent. With email, virtually every marketing
metric can be tracked with a high degree of precision. Among the
metrics that can be tracked are delivery rates, open rates, click
through rates, and conversion rates.

6. Email marketing is highly automated. Very little manpower is
required to create an email campaign. Essentially, the only
manual work required is the copy writing of email message itself.
Other aspects such as delivery and tracking are done
automatically.

7. Email messages do not necessarily require any design work.
Unlike many other forms of marketing, email messages require
little to no designing. In fact, it has been shown that plain
text email messages with no HTML tend to be more effective. Plain
text messages are much less likely to trigger spam filters and
consequently have significantly higher delivery rates.

8. Rapid response time. Particularly if you sell products online,
an email campaign can begin to generate a response almost
immediately. Customers don't have to leave their home and can
make a purchase with the click of a button.

9. Email is the ultimate "word of mouth" marketing vehicle. If
your email message is "viral" in nature, your customer can
quickly and easily forward it to friends and family, spreading
your message to new potential customers.

10. Email helps you build a relationship of trust with your
customers. Email solves one of the greatest challenges in
marketing: building a relationship with customers. Email allows
you to keep in touch with customers, get their feedback, offer
support, etc.

Email marketing is a powerful, inexpensive, and cost-effective
marketing medium. Start using email today to build your online
business.

Use Press Releases in Your Internet Marketing Program

If you've ever felt reluctant to submit a press release because
you weren't sure how to write an effective release, pay attention
to the following advice. Writing a good press release is simpler
than you may think.

A good press release is essentially a good news story. Any time
your business releases a new product or does anything newsworthy
you should create a press release to tell the world about it.
The press release will be welcomed by journalists and internet
writers whose job it is to educate and inform. They will either
use your press release intact or use it as the basis for an
article that they will write about your news and your company.
The result? Publicity, credibility, and a stream of customers.

Therefore, you'll want to write as many press releases as you
can. A good press release can be more valuable than an
advertisement, generating more potential customers.

The elements of a good press release include three essential
parts, the headline, the introduction, and the body. It is
recommended that you put a lot of thought and attention into the
headline. It should be informative and make the reader want to
learn more. The introduction is short and interesting The body
contains all of the who, what, where, why and when answers that a
good news story requires. Since good news stories are people
centered, these elements should be focused on the people aspect
of the story.

Take care that the press release is timely, relating to something
that has just occurred. It should also be brief and to the
point, around 400 to 500 words in length. Be sure that the
grammar and the spelling are standard and correct or else the
press release will not be published. Lastly, make certain that
the press release is factual and truthful.

It's a good idea to keep the paragraphs of the body short, about
three or four sentences in length. This length will make the
press release easier to read. Also, it is wise not to send extra
material such as photos with the press release. If photos are
important they can be posted on a website which is referenced in
the body of the press release.

A couple of additional elements are commonly included at the end
of good press releases. A short "about us" section provides some
background information about your business and yourself. Some
media contact information gives your contact person the
information they need to be able to contact you.

The press release traditionally should close with the symbol,
"###," which signifies that it is complete.

Get inclusion in the largest search engines in the world. Submit your website into The Best Traffic Of Your Life Directory.

11 EASY WAYS TO GET FREE TRAFFIC

In this world you only have two types of assets: Money and Time.
The easiest way to drive traffic to your site is to buy it. But
if you are an Internet marketing beginner you probably don't have
much money to invest in traffic building. In that case, you will
need to invest your time.

The following traffic techniques are time consuming, but they are
100% free and will get you a fair amount of targeted traffic. If
your site is properly optimized for monetization, you will soon
be earning enough money to invest in buying traffic, and save
your precious time to build new money making websites.

So here are 11 surefire free traffic techniques:

This tip is so obvious it will not even be counted, but it is
often overlooked: submit your site to the major search engines
(Google, Yahoo, MSN) and to as many other search engines as you
can.

1. Use this proven Bum Marketing technique, write 5 to 10
articles and submit them to the free article directories. Of
course you must include a link to your site in the article itself
or in your bio box. The articles should be optimized for a
keyword your site is targeting.

2. Find blogs related to your topic and leave useful comments
with a backlink to your site. In the same way you could go to
answers.yahoo.com, and answer questions related to your site’s
topic. Off course put a link to your site in each of your
answers. Another thing you should consider is joining the most
popular forums that deal with your site's topic and becoming an
active poster. Include a link to your site in your signature.

3. This one can be very powerful. Write a press release about
your site and submit it to press release sites such as prweb.com.
If you are not familiar with press releases, take some time to do
a little research: a press release is not written like an
article.

4. If you are happy with a product or service you have used,
write an unbiased testimonial and trade it for a backlink to your
site.

5. Start a blog on blogger.com and a blog on wordpress.com, link
them to your site and submit them to the hundreds of free blog
directories. This will get you plenty of quality traffic as long
as you keep your blogs updated.

6. Try posting ads with a link to your site on all the free
classified ad sites you can find (such as craigslist.com). The
best ones will allow you to post a live link. But don’t neglect
the other ones. If your ad is well written, people will go out of
their way and type your url in their browser. Off course you must
post in the appropriate category.

7. An easy way to get extra free traffic is to add a link to your
site in your email signature.

8. Start a page on myspace.com and on any other high page rank
social bookmarking site you can find. In the same way, go to
Squidoo.com, open a few accounts, create a few lenses and link
them to your site.

9. Submit a viral video to youtube.com. You don’t really need any
video producing know-how as a simple PowerPoint slideshow with
some background music will do the job perfectly.

10. Search your main keywords on Google and see if you can
exchange reciprocal links with related websites that come up in
the top results.

11. You could write an ebook or a short report (say 10 to 20
pages), or find a product with giveaway rights that you can brand
with a link to your site. Then submit it to all the free ebook
directories you can find online.

This last tip is not free, but is worth the extra buck. Check out
the misspellings or variations of your domain name, or those of
your competitors. If you find a good available domain, grab it
and redirect the traffic to your site.

Now all this looks like a full time job! These techniques work,
but you don’t have to use them all at once. Just pick the one you
feel the best with and act now. Invest 30 minutes to an hour
daily in building your free traffic. Then step to your next
favorite technique and within a few weeks you should be earning
enough money to afford to buy traffic and concentrate your time
and efforts on building your online business.

Lead Generation For A Profitable Business

Lead Generation is generally regarded as necessary to run a
business. Whether you have a Fortune 500 company or a small
home-based operation, people who are interested in what you have
to offer are essential if that business is to be viable and you
are to make a profit.

Of course, word of mouth benefits all sorts or businesses - and
there are ways of stimulating this - but getting started in a
small business, or growing an already existing operation,
requires more proactive steps.

A common approach is to buy leads. However, very often buyers
will simply lose their money doing this, especially if you buy
generic leads or those who've shown only a marginal interest in
your business.

One of the worst strategies would be buying a list of email
addresses for generic leads, especially those sold to multiple
users. When someone receives an email and doesn't know who you
are, forget about selling to that person. You can send out many
thousands of emails and the response will be negligible - except
for hostile, abusive replies!

Safer, and more profitable, is developing an automatic lead
generation system that is either free or else costs very little
to set up and maintain. In particular, you require the exact
steps that will put your lead generation on auto-pilot -
techniques that come with step-by-step instructions. The yellow
brick road will then be paved with gold.

If your business requires phone numbers, this can be taken into
account when you set up your free lead generation system. Design
it so that your leads are not only pre-qualified but you are able
to obtain telephone numbers at this time.

Postal leads are another solution - meaning the snail-mail
variety. This is also risky, as well as being expensive. For
instance, a common mistake is to mail a full package to
unqualified leads. A better, and cheaper, approach is to first
send a post card so that you aren't incurring costs on people who
simply aren't interested or who may have already joined your
program.

However, it isn't easy to even recover costs with postcards. Many
find it really hard.

It isn't all just doom and gloom, though. You still need leads
and there are methods which enable you to set up an automatic
lead generation system, put them into an autoresponder for a
series of emails, and send them a postcard later! However, to
just buy leads and mail postcards has been a huge money loser for
thousands of people.

The secret is to pre-qualify. The essential ingredient in
building a lead generation system is to be sure you pre-qualify
them for your offer! Fortunately, there are free and low-cost
methods for doing this. Some of them will be mentioned briefly
here. You should follow-up with a fuller, in-depth study of
each.

Method 1. Viral List Builders. Techniques that encourage users
to pass the product onto others, such as ebooks, jokes, cartoons,
pictures, and important information.

Method 2. Ad Co-Op Publishing. Co-operative ventures with others
who agree to place your advertising on their web pages in
exchange for you doing the same with their ads.

Method 3. Forum Tricks. There are thousands of forums covering
just about every topic. These provide opportunities to become
known and to introduce readers to your informal advertising, as
with your forum signature.

Method 4. Article Marketing Strategies. Articles are valuable as
sources of content and information, as well as providing back
links to your web site and pages.

Method 5. Special Bonuses. There are many ways incentives can be
used to join your email list and to convert visitors to buyers.

Method 6. Reverse Marketing. Join every offer you can find that
is related to your market and contact the person making that
offer. They have already demonstrated an interest in your
particular niche and are likely to require more quality
information.

Method 7. Joint Ventures. Contact others who have shown a
similar interest and invite them to JV with you. They provide
leads and you just close the sales, offering a discount to their
list.

Many of the costly lead generation approaches are costly failures
for internet marketers wanting a profitable online business.
However, it is possible to set up a successful low cost system
that will automatically capture leads and build a long-term,
profitable relationship with them.

Smart Ways To Use The Internet

The internet is an extremely over-hyped area of opportunity but
here are several tested, proven, practical and almost universally
valuable uses.

To begin, you need to create a website for your business, not so
much as a means of acquiring customers via cyberspace, but a
customer service, education, and information center. For example,
your website could offer answers to all the commonly asked
questions, diagrams, etc. accessible free, 24 hours a day. You
could even make a portion of your site "access restricted," for
customers, clients, subscribers, or "members" only, adding
mystique to your marketing, and adding perceived value for your
clientele!

This technique would work whether you have a brick and mortar or
internet based business. For example, a restaurant could do this
with "secret recipes" and special VIP offers; a clothing retailer
with etiquette and fashion tips and special offers, and so on. Of
course, you'll also want a promotional area on your website
designed for new customers and you'll then want to add your
website address to video brochures, audio recordings and
infomercials for your advertising and marketing materials.

Second, begin collecting and organizing the email addresses of
your customers and collecting the email address of visitors to
your site.

With the list, you can do virtually free, push button marketing
anytime you like, as often as you like. You can send out an email
newsletter to your customers, or other information like tip
sheets.

Let's say you have a rather ordinary business; kitchen and bath
business, for example. Here are a few of the things you might
transmit by email to your customer list:

1. Resources to upgrade your countertops to granite or marble
2. Cabinet grade tips and suggestions
3. Special offers for new plumbing fixtures
4. Tips on determining the grade of cabinet materials
5. New product information

Keep in mind, regardless of your business or product you can use
the above techniques for creating and marketing your website and
business.

Third, in seeking publicity from the media, being able to fax,
email or mail very brief, provocative news releases that refer
the recipients to your website for more information is very
useful.

Everybody in the media is online. And, some are lazy, so if they
can research a story without leaving their chair, believe me,
that's the way they're going to do it. If you go the route of
writing articles for publication in your industry journals or
article forums, you can even post a whole collection of them on
your site, and invite any publication to download and use
whatever they like.

In summary of my advice to most business owners about the
internet: do Not be seduced, do Not buy into the hype and expect
miracles or invest inordinate amounts of time or money. Do Not
let the internet take away from your commitment to more reliable,
predictable, results-measurable advertising and marketing media.
But DO get involved. At whatever pace is comfortable for you,
begin learning about the internet, getting your business on the
Net, and experimenting with practical applications like those
just described. Proceed calmly, deliberately, strategically.

Above all else, Just Do It!

Put Your Blogging On A Schedule

Does the thought of scheduling your blogging seem so...
uncreative? Posting to your blog shouldn't happen only when you
feel "moved" to create an award-winning post. Blogging needs to
be done regularly to provide good content for your readers and to
maximize your profits.

Set yourself up with a schedule to post on your blogs. Take a
realistic look at your business and figure out how blogging can
fit in. The object is not to be constantly blogging, forsaking
all else, but to bring blogging forward a bit from your low
priority pile of things to do. Take a look at your business model
and where blogging fits in. If your blogs are currently your only
platform for making money, then blogging should be high priority.

Your blogging schedule is up to you and can certainly be changed
when your circumstances change. Perhaps you're going to
temporarily blog daily on your Internet Marketing blog because
you're promoting an affiliate product or you're just about to
launch your new ebook. On a regular week you might consider
blogging everyday, but alternating between all your blogs.

The important things is to think about your blogging ahead of
time and create your schedule for the week. Also keep in mind the
time of day that is available to you for blogging, especially if
you're a part-time internet marketer. Will mornings from 7:00 am
to 7:30 pm work? And how about lunchtime from 12:00 pm to 1:30
pm?

While you're thinking ahead about your blogging, get a rough plan
down on paper about what your blog subjects will be for each of
the posts you're going to post in the week ahead. If you can't
think of something right away, it will be a seed planted in your
mind and you'll come up with a great idea before it's time to
write it.

Try to find ways to streamline your posting. If your blogs are in
a related field, you can sometimes modify your blog post to fit
all your blogs. If your blogs are in very different fields you
may still want to do the same sort of post to save time. For
example, if you want to post a YouTube video, you can look for
different videos for your different blogs all at once.

Scheduling your blogging may not be a creative endeavor, but it
can make your blogging more successful nonetheless. A blogging
schedule can help you become a consistent blogger who doesn't
lose readers for lack of posts and can also help you maximize
your profits.

How To Generate More Traffic To Your Internet Marketing Business

When you have your own business at home, getting into Internet
marketing can quickly raise the status of your business. One of
the most important facets to having success with Internet
marketing is how you are generating traffic. Without traffic
coming to your site it is impossible to have success. Therefore,
you must evaluate how you are going to generate a high traffic
volume.

The thing about running your own business at home is that you can
never have too much traffic. You should always be looking to
increase your traffic volume so that you can increase your
income. Typically you want to find a few solid marketing
techniques and stick to them as opposed to using several
different techniques. But you may have to try out several before
you find the most effective method for you.

One technique to raising your traffic volume with Internet
marketing is submitting a site map to search engines. What this
will do is give your site a better chance of being examined by
the search engines. With more visits to your site from the search
engines spiders, your sites will gradually climb higher on the
search engines thus increasing your traffic.

Most people are aware of affiliate programs, but few are familiar
with how they can benefit the site they already have. If you set
up your own affiliate program for people to sell your product or
service, you will have a business within a business. Not only
will you have other people selling for you, your traffic will
increase as well because of two separate businesses.

Perhaps the easiest method of increasing your traffic volume is
posting in forums. There are literally hundreds of thousands of
forums to choose from. The key is to post in forums with a lot of
people that are all interested in the niche you are involved in.
After spitting out some fresh and enticing information, you can
reel people in to your website immediately.

The last method is one of the best on the Internet right now:
article marketing. Article marketing can do a number of things
for your site. First, it allows you to write fresh and enticing
content that readers will be astonished by. Second, you can
promote or write about whatever people are looking for here.
Lastly you can place a bio box with your URL in it to direct
customers to your site after submitting the articles to article
directories.

Traffic is essential to having success with Internet marketing.
It can be difficult having your own business at home, but using a
few of these marketing techniques can make life much easier for
you.

Network Marketing Success Starts With You!

Network marketing is the same as any other business -- to succeed
you need a system, and more importantly you need to follow it!

There are many different techniques that successful network
marketers have used, and it is tempting to look at another
system, think that's far easier, and try to change what you are
already doing. A big mistake! Find a system that works and don't
let yourself be distracted. When your income is secure then
perhaps you can experiment, but even then it could slow your
progress.

Success for a network marketer starts in the mind. More than any
other business you need to have a positive attitude. Remember
this key point if nothing else. Believe that you will build a
business and you are on your way. If you have doubts they will
slowly sabotage your success, and this can be amplified if the
only people you associate with don't understand what you are
doing.

This is the reason that traditional networking companies have
opportunity meetings and sizzle sessions. So that you associate
with like minded individuals who are positive and goal-oriented,
and so that their knowledge and belief rubs off on you. If your
company is internet based you will find that they have conference
calls, forums and chatrooms to keep people motivated and
focussed.

Information about your product and recommended promotional
techniques can be discussed, but the most important benefit of
these real life, or virtual, meetings is that they help to keep
your attitude about your life and business positive.

A good network marketing company will supply you with a list of
recommended books. Some even go so far as to say, "I will not
work with you unless you read X, Y, and Z". A good diet of
positive and motivational books will build your belief in
yourself and your business, and can serve as an alternative or an
add-on to your meetings.

Your own mind is the biggest barrier to success in network
marketing, and the influence you allow others to have over it.
The development of a great communication system with people in
your upline and your team is the key to any networking system.
You can distribute flyers, business cards and put up notices, but
if you don't connect with other people in your business, and
maintain a positive attitude your networking business will
stagnate.

But if you work hard at improving your attitude, and use the
above tools to dispel any doubts you may have you will find that
your network marketing business will grow by leaps and bounds. As
they say, "it's all in the mind"!

Reasons Your MLM Business is Failing?

Today, many people are interested in obtaining financial freedom.
Many also will look at a multi-level marketing (MLM) business as
a way to reach their goals. The problem is that about 95% of
those who get involved with MLM fail. Let's take a closer look at
why many such home-based businesses are set up to fail from the
start.

Reason #1: Most opportunities are way too similar. They just try
too hard to copy each other. Plus, the products and services are
boring. To make matters worse, the marketplace the company is
serving isn't growing very quickly. This type of home-based
business screams failure.

Reason #2: Many home-based MLM business opportunities force
people to do everything by themselves. It's unfortunate, but
businesses are loaded with all kinds of headaches and hassles.
It's a huge struggle just to keep things going, market, and build
a list. There are too many challenges and no help! The end result
of this type of opportunity: people will quit!

Reason #3: Most home-based business opportunities will never make
their affiliates rich or obtain financial freedom. Scams abound.
This is very sad since most people's goal is to develop long-term
wealth. The bottom line: people must look for a business that is
already making other average people wealthy, and that is easily
duplicated. The fact is there are legitimate home-based business
opportunities that offer this.

Reason #4: The majority of home-based businesses do not pay much
in upfront cash. Unfortunately, many times people are paid in
small sums. Low cost products and services are offered with a
small percentage profit. To make matters worse, people put in
tremendous effort and time only to wait around to get paid. No
one should ever get involved with this type of opportunity if
they want to succeed.

Reason #5: Many MLM home-based businesses are filled with gaps
and missing pieces. There is so much hype. However, when it all
dies down and one takes a closer look at what's being offered,
they find the work-at-home opportunity is pure fluff and fiction.
Basically, the home-based business opportunity is just a good
idea that someone is trying. If the opportunity is researched,
what usually is discovered is that only the heavy hitters make
the money, the company behind it is getting rich, and the
products and services being sold are only to the distributors!
This would be a horrible type of business to become involved in.

Reason #6 Many MLM home-based business opportunities are very
risky. They are filled with problems, pain, and frustration. As a
result, business opportunity seekers view them as a risk and
don't want to become involved with them. They know starting a
business from home has to be right and if they see red flags,
they will avoid it. Sometimes, people become so skeptical that
they never choose a business at all. They fail to realize the
right business opportunity can be found and worked without the
headaches.

The truth is, home-based MLM businesses can work. It simply takes
time and careful research to choose the right one. Avoid the
problems discussed in this article and you will be sure to find
the MLM home business for you.

The Top Three Tips to Build A Successful MLM

Many network marketers struggle in mlm. They want to know how to
recruit people for mlm and how to build mlm the best way. The
truth is, if you are struggling, your lack of success in not your
fault. Here are three tips that can guide you to a great mlm
career.

Tip #1 Change your mentality. People feel they fail for many
reasons. They think they are not coming out of their comfort
zone. Some think they are too tall, too short, or are not
attractive enough. Some feel their failure to go to company
events is the problem or they just are not cut out for mlm.

If you are thinking like this, stop! All of us have been
recommending and promoting for years and years. If we choose to
stop, we will just stop our paycheck.

The problem is that many of us have been convinced that mlm is a
sales business. Because of this mentality, we stop recommending
and promoting.

One of the secrets to mlm success is realizing this is a
mentoring and coaching business; a relationship business. Anybody
can do this if they truly want to. We just teach how to pick up
the paycheck.

Tip #2: Learn to generate your own leads. Many people in mlm buy
leads. This is not the best way to build your business. You see,
many leads lists are sold to a number of different companies, so
your "hot" prospect might already have had numerous other calls
from folks trying to get them in "on the deal".

When it come to how to recruit in mlm, another important point is
that this isn't a duplicatable system. Believe it or not, some
people out there are paying $100 per lead and spend $1500 a month
on leads. Plus, they spend around $2,000 on their company's
product. Now, think for a minute. How duplicatable is this for
most people? $100 a lead and $2,000 a month on products? Can you
see when it comes how to recruit people in MLM and how to build
MLM, this is a bad strategy?

The bottom line is first, you do not need to buy leads especially
when it is much easier to generate your own. Second, it is
crucial you have a duplicatable system so it is not difficult for
you and your downline to recruit people for your mlm business.

Tip #3: Take a careful look at how big the company's building is.
This sounds weird, but it is something that should be carefully
considered.

Have you ever taken the time to think about how much upkeep a
huge building requires? Not only this, but also how much staff it
takes to keep the operation going?

You see, when a company has a huge building with a lot of staff,
the company has to pay for the lights, keep the lawn mowed, pay
for electricity, maintenance people, etc., that can add up very
quickly!Plus, with all that staff comes salaries, bonuses,
vacation time, health benefits, short-term disability, and the
like. The bottom line, it all adds up, for some, to millions a
month in overhead.

You may ask who is paying for all of this? In many cases the
money has to be taken from the compensation plan. Also, products
prices can be high to help cover costs. Whatever the case, this
is a bad scenario.

You want to always make sure you bring your people into a strong
company where they will be paid well for their efforts and where
products are sold to consumers at the best price. This will help
them build a successful business.

So, when it comes to how to recruit people for mlm and how to
build mlm, if you keep these important points in mind, you will
be well on your road to success!

Networking Your Way to Online Success

Forums, groups, boards, and loops; they’re all synonymous for
online locations facilitating online networking. Some are
entirely public, where everyone and anyone can click to the URL,
read the messages and if they have no interest in contributing,
they can just lurk. Some require active participation and others
require registration before members can participate. These
online forums, groups, boards or loops are different from paid
membership sites in that there is no cost to network at these
websites.

Some are active, some are sleepy. Some are strictly for business
related topics; some allow more OT (Off Topics) and social
interaction. There are forums for every imaginable topic:
Entrepreneurs, International business, Health related fields,
Technology, Copywriters, Web Designers, Work at Home Moms,
Programmers, Finance, Ebay, Job Seekers, Internet Marketing,
Writers, Inventors and Virtual Assistants, just to barely scratch
the surface of what’s out there on the World Wide Web.

Time management skills need to be paramount when participating in
online forums. You can very easily get swallowed up and spend
hours and hours online networking with others who have online
businesses, yet you miss real opportunities to get some
productive work done!

From a business standpoint, there are two areas you should
consider before participating in a loop. It’s always good to
have a network of like-minded business people. If you’re a web
designer, hang out with other designers. You can help and
support each other. If you’re just starting out, you can learn
from the pros.

Don’t get stuck though, just hanging out with your own kind.
You’re not going to be very successful trying to promote your
design services to other designers. This is where balance comes
in. Pop into the boards, check new posts of interest, ask or
answer questions, then get out. Then move onto groups who need
your services or products. Who is your target market and where
do they hang out? Go there. Word of caution: Do not go to
these forums with the sole purpose of SPAMMING the group. You’ll
be tossed out on your ear quicker than you can blink if that is
your sole purpose. People like to do business with people they
know and trust – or at the very minimum have at least heard of.

If you’re trying to sell your curriculum to a group of home
school parents and you just pop in, spew your sales rap all over
the boards then expect any sort of return, you’re missing the
point of online networking. It’s networking – not advertising.
You need to build a rapport with your other “loopies”. Then if a
need arises and they know one of their own fellow networkers has
that special skill or product, guess who they’ll call first? You
hope it’s YOU.

For starters check MSN, Google, Yahoo, AOL, and Ryze. Inside
there are literally hundreds and thousands of groups just waiting
for you. Start networking your way to success today!

Downline Building – Necessary Skill or Marketing Smoke

So, you have your mind set on being an Internet marketing
professional and dream of making big money on the Internet. If
you look around Internet marketing forums one might soon get the
idea that building down lines was a necessary evil in order to be
a big success in the realm on online marketing.

Well here is some food for your brain that might just dispel that
thought for you. How about this does Google need a downline to be
successful? How about YouTube or MySpace? Granted they both need
pools of eager user, there is no doubt that in the realm of sites
like MySpace and Squidoo having networks of friends is helpful
from a marketing perspective, but is it necessary to build a
downline.

What is less clear is the skill of building a downline necessary
to become a successful online marketer. The term online marketer
used here because so many have the preconceived notion that in
Internet marketing downline building is a must. It is safe to say
that if you have been on any Guru's list for anytime they have
most certainly passed one program or another by you that required
becoming a member of one of their downlines.

In this scenario who is most often the one benefiting by this
proposed alliance with you the would be online marketer or the
list owning guru. We will not try to argue the point that many
have made a good living off of downline building and that there
is a certain merit to downline structured enterprises, but for
whom? Generally the one that benefits most from these programs
are the list owner or program owner not the would be online
marketer that is on average going to build a downline of no more
than a handful of sign ups.

Before you can answer the question is downline building a
necessary marketing skill you need to answer the question what
kind of online business are you after in the first place. This
question should be answered before you go any further into a
possible career as an online business owner. The second question
and even more important is what type of person are you?

Yes, the most important question in knowing whether downline
building is necessary is who are you. Without answering this
question, you will not know which type of business model is best
suited to your personality. Without this information you are
destine to spend months maybe even years bouncing around from
program to program from system to system trying to find your path
in the Internet marketing jungle.

Getting to know one's self sounds easy at first but many of us
have a hard time separating out the person we would like to think
of ourselves as and the true underlying you. If being a
cheerleader, a team player, a personal training coach, a hand
holder, someone who is constantly answering the same seemingly
ridiculous questions repeatedly than any online marketing career
that involves downline building is for you.

If taking charge, being responsible for your own actions, and
decisions sounds more like the true you, and the above make you
want to scream then you are probably better suited to an online
marketing career designed around being a lone wolf a person in
charge of there own destiny and responsible for no one but
themselves. If this is the case, we are here to tell you downline
building is not a prerequisite to being a successful online
marketer or even may we dare Internet marketer.

There are many ways to make a very comfortable living on the
Internet that requires absolutely no downline building skill at
all. Most websites owners have very little need for the skill of
downline building what they do need is the ability to grow
successful list of customers, build traffic to a website, and
maybe even the opposite side of downline building growing a list
of their own affiliates. This last one not being a prerequisite
to a successful website either.

So, in the end if you are finding building huge downlines a
problem, you just do not seem to have your heart in it maybe you
do not need to. Maybe what you need is a web business that does
not require the needed skills of downline building. Maybe you
need the type of online business that actually dominates the
Internet, maybe what you need is your own website business. Only
you can answer the question of what is right for you.

Paid Membership Programs are a Great Way to Make Money

When it comes to making money on the Internet there is no
shortage of ways to do it. Of course if you have a product of
your own that is the best place to start. What if you do not have
a product of your own?

Here are a few ways you can sell stuff online with affiliate
marketing to make money for yourself.

- Affiliate Programs. Getting paid to sell other people's
products is the quickest way to get going that I have found.
Affiliate marketing has been around for over 10 years now and
many people look at Amazon.com as one of the first companies to
sell products this way.

You can make money selling clicks such as with Google Adsense.
You can make money selling leads with affiliate programs like Max
Bounty. You can make money selling products. One such way is to
sell information products like you would find at ClickBank.

Another thing you can do is affiliate program directories like
AssociatePrograms.com or Commissions Junction where they have
compiled some of the best products to sell in one place.

One way to make money online is to sell memberships. This can be
done through both affiliate marketing as well as network
marketing. Getting paid over and over for making one sale is
called residual income.

Certainly network marketing also offers some great residual
income for repeat business on a monthly basis. Many MLM companies
will set up your customers and distributors on auto-ship and the
products they order go out like clock work every month. When they
do you make a commission every month just like clockwork as
well.

Back to paid memberships. Products that can be accessed online
and offer value to your customer are great to sell. Paid
memberships fit this description. Subscriptions on how to run a
home business, personal development, paid newsletters on every
subject imaginable, website hosting, autoresponders, and just
about anything you can think of, offer you a chance to create
residual income.

Two tier programs where you get paid on the sales of people you
recruit work great for paid membership programs as well. Of
course network marketing falls into this category and can even be
better because you can make money every month on the sales of a
large group of people.

The key with most paid subscription programs is you make a little
bit of money on every sale. The first month this may not amount
to much. The second month it can be more. In a year it can be
quite a lot. Kind of like compound interest if you know how that
works.

Your efforts and your sales compound themselves offering you a
great chance to build an income that you could walk away from in
a few years.

Can you say that about your current job?

Are You Using This Internet Marketing Secret?

If you are trying to sell a product or service on the Internet,
then you are probably doing so through an affiliate program. You
signed up as an affiliate (usually for free) and they gave you an
affiliate ID (user name or number). They may have even given you
a basic marketing package which includes text ads, banner ads,
and solo ads with a link to your affiliate sales page. All you
have to do is use these tools to get traffic to your affiliate
sales page.

Well that sounds pretty easy, doesn't it? This process actually
works too, except that your probability of converting your
traffic into sales is very, very, very low. In other words, you
may have to have thousands of people to visit your affiliate
sales page before you ever see your first sell. Now those aren't
very good odds, are they?

Unfortunately, that is what most people do. They spend a lot of
time, effort, and money getting all of those people to that
affiliate sales page and then they finally make a sale and earn a
referral fee or commission. But wait, it can get even worse.
Let's say that you made one sale and earned a $10 commission.
That's great, right? Well not really, because in the terms and
conditions of your affiliate program, you don't actually get paid
until you have accumulated at least $20 of commissions. So get
back to it and get another sale and finally get paid. Good
grief!

Don't quit! Internet marketing is a great way to make extra
money, but you have to know some of the secrets. Here's one.
"Don't advertise your affiliate program directly." You must use a
four step process.

Four Step Process

1. First, you must provide something of value. The easiest
valuable thing that you can give away is information. An
informative email course, special report, or ebook are all great
ways to give away free information.

2. This step goes along with the initial step above. Don't give
away your free information until you get an email address. You
must capture the name and email address of your prospective sale
in order to be able to implement the next step.

3. If the information that you are providing is good and helps
people, then you will earn some trust. If someone gives you some
information that saves you time, money, or effort; then you are
going to closely read anything that they send you - as long as
the information is still valuable. This is why it is so important
that you get that name and email address before you start giving
away your information. Now you can keep the information flowing
through an occasional email to your prospect.

4. Finally, if you have been providing valuable information and
earning trust from people, it is much more likely that they will
buy something that you recommend. This is especially true if you
can convince them that what you are recommending will help them
and that it is worth their money. The easiest way to do this is
to recommend something that you have actually purchased and use
yourself. Just tell them how it helped you and why you think that
it was worth what you paid for it!

Six Reasons Why Many Home-Based Businesses Fail

Any given day, thousands of people look to get out of the rat
race and work from home. In addition, many people want to get a
home-based business started so badly that they do not always make
wise choices in choosing a work from home opportunity. As a
result, many fail miserably. This, of course, does not need to
happen. It is possible to pick a viable business opportunity. As
discussed in a previous article, there are five top reasons many
home-based businesses will never work. Let's discover six
additional reasons why, if people are not careful, their home
business could fail.

Reason#1: Most new opportunities have no way to help people make
large amounts of money. Many opportunities will give great ideas
for making money, but then leave people out in the cold by having
them do everything on their own. There simply is not a good
support system. Nobody should be a part of a business opportunity
such as this.

Reason #2: Unfortunately, some home business opportunity
promoters will take people's money and run. There are too many
fly-by-night companies out there that will not hesitate to scam
people. The problem is their promotions sound just as good as
everybody else's. To avoid this, home-based business opportunity
seekers need to be very skeptical about each business opportunity
they are presented, examine them carefully, and then make an
informed decision.

Reason #3: Some home-based business opportunities have people
work long hours for little pay. People end up getting burned
out, tired, frustrated, and eventually quit. Why become part of a
work at home opportunity that is like a regular job?

Reason #4: Many business opportunities offer products nobody
wants. Never, ever try to market anything people could care less
about. Everyone who tries to do this is doomed to fail. Always
remember that the market for your products or services comes
first, and the product or service must offer something exciting
that people want. In addition, it is best that the company that
offers the product or service has a proven marketing system that
automatically sells to people the exciting product or service.

Reason #5: Many home-based business opportunities force people to
become salespeople. Because things are not set up right, people
are forced to face rejection constantly. Avoid this type of
business since most people hate to sell!

Reason #6: Most work at home opportunities pay small sums of
money and no residual income. This is a recipe for disaster! If
people sell low-ticket items that don't sell for very much money,
it's going to be almost impossible for them to obtain financial
freedom and to become rich. Never become part of any home-based
business opportunity that forces one to sell tons of items just
to make a decent profit.

So, there you have it-six additional reasons why many home-based
businesses will fail. Carefully look for potential problems with
any home-based business opportunity, make sure it does not meet
the criteria for any of these six problems outlined, and then
make an informed choice.

that are effective as well as low cost or free to market your
product, service, or opportunity. Squidoo is one such source!
Here are 7 free mlm marketing tips you can use successfully with
Squidoo today.

Tip #1: Make your Squidoo lens useful. If is is filled with junk,
it will be poorly rated. People need to appreciate what you are
offering. So, make sure you have good content on your lenses.

Tip #2: Make your lens easy to find. This is done by doing your
keyword research first. You can also check the tag clouds within
Squidoo itself. The words in larger fonts are the ones that are
highly searched. After you have done your research, place your
chosen keyword phrase in the title of your lens. You can also add
them to your lenses tags. Make sure you find keyword phrases for
all 40 tags Squidoo permits you to have per lens. This will help
people find you even easier when they use search engines such as
Google.

Tip #3: Proclaim yourself as an expert. You can do this in your
bio section of Squidoo. Make sure you add your picture as well.

marketing tip for Squidoo. Your readers need to view you as
someone they can connect with. Here are a couple of suggestions
for you:

-Have controversial topics on your lens.
-Use the Guestbook module to ask provoking questions.
-Permit others to link your lens to theirs. you do this with the
Plexo module. What is neat about this is that it also helps your
lens rank to go up and gives your more content. It also shows
that you are open to other's views.

Tip #5: Keep fresh content. When you start a lens, you will want
to keep it updated with fresh content everyday. You can do this
by adding modules. A good one to use is the RSS module where you
put RSS feeds from your blog or others and set it to update
daily, hourly, etc. The key is to keep the fresh content coming.

Tip #6: Keep your readers coming back. You will want to keep your
readers constantly coming back to visit your lens. You can easily
do this by having an autoresponder set up where you can notify
then when you make changes. If you blog, participate in forums,
comment on others blogs, etc., you can also have the URL to your
lens in your signature file.

Tip #7: Use social bookmarking and pinging services. You want to
create links coming back to your Squidoo lens. You can do this by
using sites such as Only Wire and Social Poster to bookmark your
lens. You can also use the RSS functions of sites such as Pingoat

a Squidoo lens. Begin to follow these free mlm marketing tips

Don't Let Anyone Steal Your Dream!

Do you have any dream killers in your life? Dream killers are
those people who discourage you when you are trying to change
your life. It's amazing how many people tell their friends and
family that they cannot succeed. This is especially true when you
are trying to do something "outside of the box" like making money
online or starting your own business.

The main argument these dream killers have is that your goals are
unrealistic. They will advise you to be more "practical", and
pretend they are offering you sound advice.

Many of them believe they are doing a favor by discouraging you.
They think they are helping you live a life in "your best
interest". But really, they are encouraging you to a live a life
without vision.

If you are really motivated toward success, doing anything less
than your ambitious goals will be unfulfilling for you. You end
up wondering what could have been. You continue to live your life
for other people, instead of yourself.

Your friends and family who discourage you from trying something
new are only giving you insight into what they would do in your
position. They do not have the vision and the drive that you do.
They are only reacting out of their own fear.

Other people take the path of least resistance, but that does not
mean that you have to. Your goals are important to you for a
reason. You will only be happy when you achieve them. Giving up
on your goals because other people think they are unrealistic is
no way to live your life.

How to you overcome the dream killers in your life?

You may want to start with choosing who you spend your time with.
If you want to be self-motivated, you've got to spend time with
other people who are self-motivated. The same goes for the other
aspects of success.

If the dream killers in your life are close relatives, and long
time friends, try keeping your business goals to yourself for a
while until you get going. By the time you've had a little
success, they will probably be a lot more supportive.

Finally, the best way to overcome the dream killers in your life
is to be confident in yourself and your goals. If you are truly
confident in yourself and your ideas, then no one can stop you.

Keep your goals and dreams in front of you all the time. They
will be your motivation, when some of your "well-meaning friend"
try to discourage you.

Don't let anyone steal YOUR DREAM!

How To Be Successful In MLM- Are You In The Spiderweb

Many people in network marketing desire to know how to be
successful in mlm. Indeed, with the attrition rate so high,
finding success is not always easy.

Many people do not realize that asking one simple question can
greatly increase their chance of success? The question is quite
simple. It is asking if they are in the Spiderweb. Read on to
discover what a Spider network is.

-Spider-network question #1: What is a Spider- network? A
Spider- network is always out for new blood. It is a company that
constantly pushes distributors to build a huge downline. There
is no true product and people would not join if there wasn't a
business opportunity associated with it. Recruiting is important,
but is spells bad news if it is the primary focus.

-Spidernetwork question #2: Is anyone retailing products or are
they just garage qualified? Of course, everyone should continue
to seek new leaders to grow and develop, but not to the point
where no retailing of products occurs. There has to be a
balance.

-Spidernetwork question #3: Where is the focus? If the focus is
only on recruiting, and you are getting paid just to recruit,
this is Spiderwebnetworking.

-Spidernetwork question #4: What is the product price? Is it
competitively priced? Is the product price being inflated?
Remember, only a few companies manufacture products for most mlm
companies. Inflated prices occur when a company's products are
very high and the same product can be found with another company
for much less. Plus, if you can find the product in places like
Wal-mart, Costco, Safeway, on Ebay, etc., this spells trouble for
distributors. Who can compete against Spiderweb? When it comes to
how to be successful in mlm, being involved with a company such
as this will make success difficult.

-Spidernetwork question #5: What profit are people making? A
profit is simply the difference between the wholesale and retail
price of a product. If distributors only get 3%, 5%, 7%, etc. of
the wholesale profit, they are going to need many, many people to
build a good income. Many people more than likely means a couple
of thousand or more. Ouch!Spiderwebnetworking is the Solution!

-Spidernetwork question #6: How much overhead does the company
have? For some, this sounds weird but it is important to
consider. The less overhead, the more a company can put in a
compensation plan for distributors.

-Spidernetwork question #7: Are bonuses paid out? Do people
have to go through so many hoops that only the top 1% of people
are qualified? This is especially important to consider since
most people in mlm are part-timers. If almost no one ever
qualifies, where does the money go? If people are looking at how
to be successful in mlm, think about this very carefully.

-Spidernetwork question #8: Would people buy the product if
there were no business opportunity associated with it? The
question to always ask is if the recruiting stopped for any
amount of time, would the company still be in business?
Spiderweb will be there!!!!!

So, to answer the question how to be successful in mlm, think
carefully about the above questions. If some people don't like
their answers, it means they very well could be in a Marketing
network where success will be very difficult. Choose to be part
of a company where you can build it big for your children and
your children's children.

Success goes with The SpiderwebSystem

Tips to Develop Top MLM Buisness

As a network marketing distributor, it is always important to
keep abreast of the current best practices to ensure on-going
business and growth. Here are the 6 best practices that many top
mlm leaders are using to successfully build their businesses.

*Always have a advertising budget whether you are marketing
online, offline, or doing a combination of both. Advertising is
essential to your business life and growth. Stick to your budget
for a year so that you will have on-going momentum. At the end of
the year, evaluate how you have done and make adjustments as
needed.

*Keep in contact with your team. You can touch base with them on
a regular basis by phone or by email. This is an important best
practice strategy to implement, especially for those on your team
who are serious team builders. Your team members joined,
hopefully, because they know, like, and trust you. This doesn't
stop after they join you, so keep in close contact. Once your
team grows, you likely will not be able to talk and work with
everyone 1:1. However, you can still work closely with your top
leaders and teach them how to work with their people. This
ensures strong support throughout the team.

*Be consistent with lead generation. As a network marketing
distributor, having a constant influx of interested prospects in
your pipeline is necessary. It is also important to make sure
that the system you use to attract prospects is duplicatable. In
other words, it should be so simple that a veteran or someone
just starting out can use successfully.

*Build leaders and make them successful. You want to hear from
your business builders, "I'll do whatever it takes", and not
"Well, I'll just try and give it a shot." The second response
usually means if things don't work out for the person, they very
well may quit. Leaders also make sure their distributors order
products. They never complain to their upline or downline, and
have their own aspirations, goals, and drams. True leaders also
will run a meeting if you are away. You want to build leaders
with strengths such as these on your team.

*Have a written plan. As a professional network marketing
distributor, always write out your plan and how you desire to
achieve your goals. Do this on a weekly basis, work it, and then
review it at the end of the week. If you are not satisfied with
how things turned out, make adjustments for the following week.

*Discover the marketing practice that works best for you and
become really good at it. This may be article writing, blogging,
creating on-line videos, e-zine advertising, etc. If you are not
sure what you want to do, implement what is working for others
until you find what works best for you.

Becoming a successful network marketing distributor and leader
does involve following the best practices others are using with
great success. Study them, implement them consistently, and watch
your business experience on-going growth.

The Ultimate People's Business -Network Marketing

If you've ever heard of Network Marketing, you've probably heard
it said that it is essentially a people's business. Some have
also labelled it a people's franchise because of the similarities
between the business models of network marketing and franchising.
Advocates of the industry name it as the ultimate people's
business and say there is nothing quite like it.

Of course people that are in network marketing will immediately
respond positively to this whereas those that are not familiar
with the industry, or have had some bad experiences might be
strongly opposed to this idea. One of the unique characteristics
of this type of business is that every individual distributor is
in business for themselves but never by themselves. They will
always be part of a larger organization and the compensation
models are designed in such a way that every person can count on
some form of support from their upline.

It is no secret that fortunes can be made in this type of
business and many have done just that. Of course this is not the
majority of network marketers, but every individual distributor
does have the same chances. Success or failure in network
marketing is not dictated by politics, race, age, background or
gender, but always by results. In that respect it is probably
also the fairest business model in the world.

For many people however the true value of their home based
business is not directly in the financial return. The lessons a
person can learn while building his or her own network marketing
business are truly priceless. Many people are totally transformed
through the personal growth they experience as a direct result of
their challenges in their MLM businesses. It forced them to get
out of their comfort zones, grow, and in many cases become a
better person.

So what is so unique about network marketing in this respect?
Doesn't every entrepreneur have to deal with challenges? The
answer of course is: Yes, they do. And they also experience
personal growth as a result from this. However there is a
significant difference. Most entrepreneurs are self made and many
of them learned their trade largely outside of formal education.
Either they were taught by a family member, a mentor or perhaps
they learned everything the hard way: by trial and error. Very
rarely will you find an entrepreneur that has an extensive
library of books and tapes on personal development. Most
businesspeople don't attend seminars and motivational trainings.
They think it's all a bunch of hype. While in some cases this can
be true, there are many trainings and seminars that teach the
principles of success better than any textbook found in business
schools.

One of the great things about network marketing is that this type
of education is built into the training systems of all good
companies. There is no business on the face of the earth that
places such a strong and direct emphasis on the importance of
personal development as the network marketing industry. Many
companies might argue that they spend a great deal of their
budget on education; training employees and as such assisting
them in personal development but in most cases what they are
actually talking about is personnel development. Although the
words are almost identical, their meanings are vastly different.

Network marketing is all about building people. It is probably
the best school on the planet if you want to learn about what it
takes to be successful in life and you don't need rich parents or
some kind of scholarship to enroll.

What to look for in a Network Marketing Business

Network Marketing is also called Multi-Level Marketing or MLM for
short. If you happen to be thinking about getting into Network
Marketing then this may be helpful for you. There are things to
look for in a Network Marketing business that will keep you from
just spinning your wheels and getting nowhere. It is true that
most Network Marketing businesses fail. That is what happens to
most any business in their first five years. But if you know how
to do it right, then Network Marketing is the best career in the
world!

You should be able to start with little cost. Avoid big sign-up
fees and expensive frontloading where you have to spend thousands
of dollars to get started, buying your way to the top of a pay
plan, having to purchase large volumes to qualify for your check,
and having to stock inventory yourself. Run away from anybody
requiring you to do those things.

Do not fall for outrageous claims such as making money with no
selling. In Network Marketing you can get people placed under you
without having to do anything if the people above you are doing a
lot of work and your compensation plan is a forced matrix or
power leg binary. That kind of thing is called spillover, but you
cannot count on getting rich from that. People joining with that
expectation will be disappointed. Even worse, do not get involved
with a company that is offering a business opportunity but has no
product or service to sell other than the opportunity. Always,
before you join any company, go to the Internet search engines
and check for complaints and scam warnings.

Sales and distribution are the backbone of all business. Direct
sales are the type we are more familiar with. The products of a
company are peddled by a salesperson that receives a commission,
which is a percentage of the money gained by the sale. That is
the traditional sales approach. The salesperson can also be paid
on an hourly or salaried basis, even per lead contacted as long
as they meet a sales quota, but the source of income for business
is always sales driven.

Network Marketing is proving to be a better way, both for the
companies and their product distributors or salespeople. You are
still selling a product or service for the company, but you also
are looking for people who want to do what you are doing, selling
the company's product and making money doing it. You are building
a team. What that does is take sales to another level, because
once you get someone else selling for the company, the company
has a new distributor and you get paid not only on your sales,
but also on the new distributor's sales as well.

That is why it is called Multi-Level Marketing. When that
distributor on your first level gets a new seller for the
company, you also get paid from the work of that new seller. If
that new seller on your second level recruits, then you have a
third level. You can have a team building under you, doing sales
for you, making money for you, and it can be happening without
extra effort on your part! The payment plans in MLM mostly
include binary, breakaway, matrix, stair-step, and the best is
unilevel.

With the unilevel plan there is no limit to the number of people
you can have under you at the first level. The purchases from
your first level are where you get the highest commission.
Commissions for purchases from your second level on down are not
as high percentage-wise, but can add up to a big amount through
the shear number of sales. Those earnings are often called
leveraged earnings because you have utilized the work and the
time of other people. That is the way to get wealthy!

Network Marketing is about the referral and soft sell. You do not
have to give people the hard sell to be successful. You simply
use the company's product or service and recommend it to others.
It helps a great deal if you are passionate about it. The company
provides promotional materials such as sales letters, brochures,
recruiting calls, recorded messages, websites, flash movie
presentations, DVDs, and even magazines. They should be
persuasive materials that put forth the benefits of the product
or service to the prospect and should include plenty of
testimonials.

The company should have a valuable and desired product or service
that people would really want to have. Preferably, the product
should be unique and manufactured by the company itself. You want
the service to be a continuing monthly service or the product to
be a consumable one, so that you get recurring purchases every
month and an ongoing income from each customer.

With Network Marketing you will not just be making one-time sales
as in direct marketing. You will be building a residual income
that keeps coming in whether you work or not. It is the perfect
way to build a retirement income, so the company you choose
should be debt free and have been in business for at least 5
years so that you know it is solid.

Having found those things, you then present the business
opportunity and the product to as many people as possible. Your
warm market is people you know, such as friends, family, and
co-workers. Beyond that, you can advertise, or buy lead lists of
people interested in starting a business or interested in your
type of product or service.

For Network Marketing the most targeted list you can get are MLM
Genealogy Lists. Those are people who have showed an interest in
Network Marketing by already having been involved in it. Do an
Internet search for MLM Genealogy Lists if you want to buy one.
Those lists are not expensive and many of the people on it
already have experience building a business. Those are the people
you want on your team!

The Perfect NetworkBuisness?

Is Network Marketing the "Perfect" Business?

It is often said that network marketing is the perfect business.
It seems logical that many people in the business say this, since
a statement like that could draw new people into the business.
"This really is the perfect business!" could be just what your
prospect needs to get the courage to make the decision and join
your network marketing company. But is that all it is? Just a
great statement to be used in an attempt to close people, or is
there actually any truth to it?

Of course not everybody shares this positive image of the
industry. Many people think quite the opposite of network
marketing. Busloads of people would laugh when someone would
refer to it as 'the perfect business' because they don't even
consider it a business in the first place. They might still have
the picture of a bunch of housewives gathering around the kitchen
table to sell each other plastic cups and lingerie as a hobby.
Obviously not everybody evaluates a business by the same criteria
but with global revenues exceeding 100 billion dollars it just
doesn't fit the description of a hobby anymore. It's serious
business.

Fortunately a lot has been written on the subject over the years,
by people outside and inside network marketing. Robert Kiyosaki
is a good example of a successful entrepreneur and best selling
author, who has not made his fortune in network marketing. He
isn't even in the business. But he is a strong advocate of the
industry because of its power and potential. He also explains
why, in his opinion, this industry offers the best chance of
success for an individual that wants to start a business these
days. He claims that network marketing companies have a system in
place, much like a franchising formula, that have proven to
produce results if you stick to the system.

So if we have established that network marketing is indeed a
business, the question still remains: "How perfect is it?” To
answer this question let's look at this from the perspective of
someone that wants to go out and start a business.

If you were to start a traditional type business the first thing
you need would probably be money. In many cases a lot of it, so
you would need to talk to a bank. Of course this bank is not just
going to throw money at you until you convince them that your
business has a good chance of success and that you are a good
candidate. You may even have paid a professional to put together
a solid business plan. So before you make your first dime, you
are spending valuable time and money to even be considered to get
the money you need from the bank.

Now let's say you qualify and you get the money from the bank.
Then you go out and start your business. You rent the space for
your store or office and in doing so you have to put down a
deposit for the first month or two and you probably have to sign
a contract for a minimum duration of your lease. This will
account for at least a couple of thousand dollars. Then you have
to get the furniture and equipment to make your business actually
look like one. Depending on your type of business that can range
from hundreds to many thousands of dollars that you must spend
just to get your business up and running.

Of course it doesn't end there. You'll have to take care and pay
for: insurance, advertising, accounting, legal fees, taxes and a
bunch of other things that you may not have anticipated, but will
prove to be necessary nonetheless. In most of these cases it will
take someone else's knowledge and that someone wants to get paid
for their service.

Now you may realize that with all of these things to take care of
you're required to work your business full time. And this is not
full time like 40-60 hours on a job. Most entrepreneurs work
60-80 hours or more per week. Still, you can't be in the store
all day and do it all by yourself. So you decide to hire someone
to help out. Here comes the nightmare of all companies:
employees. They'll work hard when you're there and slouch when
you're not. When they show up late or call in sick, you have to
open the store. And they'll never work as hard as you do, because
it's not their business, it's only their job. Nevertheless you
must pay them before you can even pay yourself.

And then we haven't even discussed all the outside factors like:
competition, government regulations, technology, city circulation
plans, customers that refuse to pay and too many more to mention.
A change in any single one of them could put you out of business
in no time. The sad truth is that over 90% of all new businesses
go out of business within the first five years of their
existence. Yet how much money do you put on the line to have a
chance in a business like this?

Now let’s compare this with the business of network marketing and
see what the differences are. If you start your own network
marketing business the initial investment is very low; probably
less than $500. You don't need an office or a store to rent
because you work out of your home. There is no need for extra
insurance, legal fees or expensive marketing advice, because all
of these things are taken care of by any good network marketing
company. Most companies also offer valuable training at minimal
cost that will vastly increase your chances of success.

You can start your business part time and you can work when and
where you choose. Perhaps the most important advantage of the
network marketing business model it the leverage is offers. You
can leverage yourself by sponsoring others into your business and
helping them build a business for themselves. Yet these people on
your team are not your employees, they each have their own
business. Therefore they'll be more motivated to work because
they are not working for you, they are working for themselves.
This way you can build a network of thousands of independent
distributors scattered all across the globe through different
levels in your organization that you can benefit from. It's like
having thousands of stores all over the world without having to
pay rent on any of them.

Does this make network marketing perfect? No, of course not.
Nothing is perfect but anyone who seriously evaluates network
marketing can't help but come to the conclusion that it offers
some remarkable advantages over traditional business.

Your Internet Business - Achieving Success while Avoiding Burnout

Hang around any internet forum for a while, and you're sure to
read a post from some exhausted, disillusioned 'apprentice'
internet marketer who is ready to give up.

It's not only internet forums that carry sad tales of endless
hours spent trying to 'break in'. You'll often see stories like
this in testimonials for a system that has finally worked:
relieved buyers tell of their rocky journey before finding the
solution that did it for them.

If you're one of those who are dealing with a fed-up spouse who
is urging you to find a 'real job', or credit cards that have
reached the red zone after huge sums spent on the next sure
thing, you may well be getting close to burnout.

What do you do? Keep trying - or give up? And if you do keep
trying, how can you know what will work best for you? What is the
best use of the hours you have available to you, without your
health suffering?

Here are a few tips to help you find your way through the maze.

1. Work on the Tasks That You Find Easiest - Outsource the Rest.

There are many ways to make money on the Internet, but most of
them require you to know how to work with two things: words and
websites. When you're a beginner, focus on working with your
strengths. For example, if you are a confident writer but a dud
with the technical stuff, spend your time and money wisely. Use
sites like Elance.com or Workaholics4Hire.com to find someone to
do the things you find difficult. (You could spend a whole day
trying to master something an expert could do in twenty minutes.)
Instead, let the professionals work on the geeky stuff, while you
write your own sales copy and tweak articles to make them unique.

If you're not so hot with either words or the technical aspects,
you have a choice: (a) you can pay others to do most of the work,
while you come up with the ideas; or (b) you can invest time to
teach yourself necessary skills.

The quickest road to burnout is trying to master everything at
once. ("I have to work this stuff out in the next three weeks or
get another job!") Be kind to yourself, and allow yourself
whatever training period you need.

2. Work With Your Personality, Not Against It.

By the time you're ready to embark on an Internet business, it's
likely that you have enough life experience to understand your
own work patterns. It is essential that you create whatever
conditions you need to work efficiently.

Once you have chosen the type of business that seems right for
you (for example: creating niche products, or building content
sites that will bring in money from AdSense and affiliate sales)
your first step should be to create a checklist of necessary
tasks. What is the very first thing you need to do? What is the
second? What is the third? Write them all down.

Decide on which tasks you will handle yourself, and which tasks
you will hand over to others. Arrange these tasks in two separate
lists. (If you have no money to outsource anything yet, then
you'll still have one big list.)

If you are outsourcing certain tasks, find the professional who
will be handling them and get things underway before you begin on
your own list. This will give you a mental boost, because things
are already happening! (Note that some outsourced tasks may have
to wait until you have completed a step on your own list.)

Look back at your past experiences with approaching projects or
new tasks, and decide which of the two following work patterns
sounds most like you:

- you work best with a 'to do' list that challenges you, ticking
off each task as it is completed.

- you become overwhelmed if you have too much on your list; you
work best if you have just one task in front of you at a time.

Far too many new internet marketers panic at the sight of a
seemingly interminable list of tasks. At the end of a day, if
they've checked only three boxes out of twenty-seven, they panic.
It all seems too much - and paralysis can set in. That, in turn,
leads to disillusionment and another failed business.

If you know that this will be your reaction, then put your list
away. Instead, write out the very first task on a piece of paper,
and put THAT in front of you. That's all you have to accomplish -
that one task.

Be careful that you don't look upon a whole complex project 'one
task'. For example: don't write down 'build a website' as Item 1
on your To-Do List! Break large tasks down into smaller jobs, and
focus on that. If your first task in building a website is to
download the necessary software and install it on your computer,
write that down as one thing on your to-do list.

Work your way through one task at a time, and give yourself
credit for what you have accomplished. One final tip: pretend
that you are hiring yourself, and treat yourself kindly - like a
new employee that has to learn the ropes. As a boss, you wouldn't
unfairly overload a 'newbie' starting out in the business - so
don't do it to yourself!
